Swag
There are exactly zero Beatles covers on the first full-length album from Swag, a semi-supergroup that includes members of Wilco, Cheap Trick, Six Pence None The Richer, and the Mavericks. This seems important to mention since just about every one of the twelve tracks here sounds enough like the Fab Four to get their copyright lawyers working overtime. Its true that everyones been ripping off the Liverpool lads for years but rarely with as little guile as Swag do on tracks like Near Perfect Smile, Different Girl, and Trixie. To be fair, it still sounds pretty goodthose Rubber Soul and Sgt. Peppers melodies never seem to get oldbut we have a right to expect more from a group of guys with resumés this impressive.
