From Chaos

Genre trailblazers 311 are partly to thank (or blame) for the current deluge of rock’n’rap bands, but the L.A. boys’ latest proves they’ve taught their disciples too well, because From Chaos is terribly tame by Bizkit and Roach standards. After opening with the thrashy one-two punch of “You Get Worked” and “Sick Tight,” Chaos wallows in mid-tempo grooves and Nick Hexum’s flatter-than–Olive Oyl vocals. Ditties like “Champagne” and “Amber” aren’t catchy enough for radio, and won’t wash in the mosh pits. Not chaotic enough.
