Back in 1996, impossibly cute Bostonian Tracy Bonham stormed down thepath Alanis Morissette had bushwacked and scored a modest hit with the punk-pop screamer, “Mother, Mother.” While Bonham was every bit the angry young woman Morissette was, she lacked the Morisette's spacey Deepak Chopra vibe, and Bonham’s songs were smarter. The future looked bright. So what happened? Her follow-up is a nondescript batch of surprisingly forgettable songs that rarely strikes the same contagious, energetic chord her debut did. The arrangements are competent and sometimes even interesting, but without memorable hooks, they have all the pop appeal of a Yoko Ono retrospective. The good news? It’s been four years since her debut, and everyone’s probably forgotten who she was anyway.
