His first album in more than a decade (hey, hes been busy saving the world) is loaded with ballads so lethargic, they make his last hit, The End of the Innocence, sound like speed metal. And half-hearted stabs at funk and soul wont sell his eco-preaching to the unconverted. VH1 may eat this up, but its clear that this Eagle has turned into a lame duck.
