With the recent announcement of a line of celebrity comics that'll feature Lady Gaga, David Beckham and others (from the same publisher who's already provided us with comics starring the likes of Twilight author Stephanie Meyer and Bo Obama), we started thinking about the countless other celebrity-starring comics that have emerged over the last several decades.
While some have been awesome, most are such poorly written, over-the-top cash grabs, we can't believe their subjects were ever seated at a restaurant again. Here are 11 of the worst culprits...
11. Lita Ford

While no one can argue what a rad cover that is above (Lita to artist: "MORE SPIKES! And skeleton hands grabbing my boobs, please"), who could have possibly thought that a Lita Ford comic would sell in 1993? She wasn't exactly setting the Billboard charts on fire at that point.
10. Jerry Lewis

Is standing by idly and ordering a pizza while a 30-foot gorilla gets murdered really an "adventure"? We can say with a great deal of confidence that Jerry's Kids would not approve.
9. Cheap Trick

The first of many failed attempts by Marvel Comics to make in-roads into the music industry, this was a freebie given away at stores with the band's 1990 album Busted...which is widely considered their worst. And given the amount of crap the Trick's released over the years, that's saying something.
8. Jackie Joyner-Kersee
Three Olympic gold medals is a mighty impressive feat. Hanging out with Tony the Tiger and shilling for Frosted Flakes? Not so much. We would totally buy an Usain Bolt comic, though. The guy even sounds like a superhero!
7. Prince

DC Comics got in bed with the Purple One in 1991, releasing a one-off issue through their Piranha Press imprint. Sadly, it was nowhere near as entertaining as "Batdance." Still, sweet fringe jacket on the cover.

Let's not forget the several attempts to bring Professional Wrestling to the expanded fantasy of Comic Books over the years.
over 15+ years ago, WCW had their own comic book. Around 10 years ago, WWF had the Undertaker comic book. Shortly thereafter, the crazy former wrestler known as Warrior had his own personal confusing proclamation set into his own comic book 4-part series called Warrior.
And now, WWE is coming back with a new WWE comic book series.
