The Amalgamut

Filter’s Richard Patrick likes to scream, and he does so much of it on this album that by the time he finally chills out, you’ll have stopped paying attention. Too bad, because beneath all the ill-tempered, aggro-industrial crapola, the inviting pop melodies and cool, tripped-out atmospherics suggest Filter might one day be more than just Nine Inch Nails for beginners. Not yet, though.
