The Crawl: Prince Is Still Awesome, and Eminem Is Being Remade In Rehab

+ When the biggies release a new album, one can always expect a slew of thinking-outside-the-box (that's marketing-speak) promo ideas. Like this one above. It's a photo of Eminem outside a rehab center. Could he be having a... RELAPSE? Ding ding ding! It's all from an "advertisement" on Marshall's official site. What is Popsomp Hills? It's a place where they "remake you." Call the number and you're connected to a recording of instructions delivered by a female staffer. Hang up fast if you don't want to be added to Em's messaging list. Or stay on the line if you do. [Pompsomp Hills]

+ So, that fake bad Beyonce vocal? The person behind the hoax, Matthew Zeghibe, has come forward: “I was just trying to make a point. I wanted to show people how easy it is to manipulate someone’s voice. If I can do it with a clip I pulled off of TV, imagine what they are doing on records and during live performances. The entire industry has been so manipulated, because there’s such an emphasis on perfection, so when something like this happens, it causes such a stir.” Dude's an art student from Connecticut. + Alison Mosshart, in the news lately due to her participation in Jack White's Dead Weather project, had to leave a performance Wednesday night by her main band The Kills. The show was happening in Boulder, Colorado, a city high (get it?) in the front range of the Rockies. Mosshart was released from the hospital after being diagnosed with a mixture of altitude sickness and a common cold. [contactmusic]

+ Crazy party rocker Andrew WK is set to host his own show on The Cartoon Network. Except it won't be a cartoon show - it'll be live action. The premise is that teams will destroy things, then use the remnants to create something new, then destroy it again, then maybe win prizes. It's called Destroy Build Destroy. But shouldn't it be called Destroy Build Destroy Maybe Win? [Decider]

+ Prince covers "Crimson & Clover" on one of his newest albums. And it sounds like Prince covering "Crimson & Clover." Which is to say, pretty good. He can still play guitar.

+ The Guardian sure did like a recent Newcastle performance by recently reformed ska/new wave legends The Specials. Is this a good time to watch some old Specials footage? Yes, it is. [Guardian]
