Release Date:
10/03/2000
Artist:
Green Day
Warning: contains catchy, intelligent hooks thatll make you like Green Day! Their three-chord assaults had grown tiresome by the time of 1997s prom-ready jingle Good Riddance (The Time of Your Life). Now the scruffy punks return, harboring a newfound maturity
and at least a few new chords. The result is their most accomplished record yet. Waiting, with its acoustic intro and fade, is both powerful and arresting, while the flamenco-flavored Minority evokes the Clash. Fans of Dookie-era Green Day will dig Blood, Sex & Booze, but even those who dismissed their breakthrough as elementary crap will find reasons to turn this one up.
