Retired With: Kansas City Chiefs (1993–1994)
A legend in 'Cisco for directing some of the most amazing comebacks in NFL history—including "the Catch" to clinch the '82 NFC championship—Montana lost his starting QB spot to Steve Young after surgery on his throwing arm kept him out during the '91 and '92 seasons. A Favreian itch in his jockstrap landed him in KC, which kept him from invading TV broadcast booths for another two years.
