Every year my jerky cousin sends me his mock draft. So this year, instead of just deleting it like normal, I trumped his ass and put it up on my blog. This way I get all the credit. So look and learn, kiddies. This is what's gonna happen when rich, pampered college students officially become rich, pampered professional athletes.

1. Houston Reggie Bush / RB Houston did entertain the idea of trading but with New Orleans undercutting their efforts and Bush having a fantastic pro day, this becomes a no brainer: Bush rules Texas again!

New Orleans

D’Brickashaw Ferguson / OT

I suspect someone will trade for this pick to select Matt Leinart because most see him going to Tennessee at 3. If there is no trade then Ferguson or Mario Williams is the pick.
3.

Tennessee

Matt Leinart / QB

Two words: Norm Chow. Tennessee has got to be hoping that no one will trade up to two to select Leinart. McNair may be cut so this pick makes a great deal of sense with Leinart/Chow.

New York Jets

 Mario Williams / DE

Trading Abraham to Atlanta leaves a huge hole where 10-15 sacks used to be. AJ Hawk could be picked here but history says DE's rise and LB's fall as the draft approaches.

5.

Green Bay

A.J. Hawk / LB

 Green Bay needs help everywhere. They will take the leftovers between Williams and Hawk. Hawk will be a playmaker-type LB who would improve their weak defense.
6. San Francisco

Vernon Davis / TE

Some say that Vernon Davis is every bit the prospect that KW2 was. Hopefully he will not make some of the same bone-headed mistakes. Davis = Beast.

Oakland

Haloti Ngata / DT

The Vince Young watch starts here but Oakland is supposedly high on Andrew Walters. Oakland needs to beef up their D-line and Ngata brings a lot of beef. Man beef.

Buffalo

Winston Justice / OT

They have a terrible o-line that's almost as bad as Houston’s. Before the USC pro day, this pick would have been considered a reach, but Justice is now locked in.

9.

Detroit

Michael Huff / S

There is no WR named "Williams" for Detroit to draft this time. So they're stuck with Huff as their hard-hitting S.

10.

Arizona

 Vince Young / QB

Can you think of a better spot for Young? Dennis Green, a trio of talented WRs, and James to hand off to. For some reason, I see this happening and sparing Young a long draft day fall.

11.

St. Louis Rams

 Brodrick Bunkley / DT

The Rams will continue to focus on defense, even after having a good FA period. Look for them to take either Ngata or Bunkley, whoever is available at 11.

12.

Cleveland

 Kamerion Wimbley / OLB

Wimbley is in the mold of Willie McGinest and what better way to have Wimbley develop into that type of player than to have him play with McGinest. If a QB falls, look for a trade.
13.

Baltimore

Jay Cutler / QB

This is Brian Billick’s last chance or he is gone. He is no longer content with Kyle Boller and is ready to move on. They may make a run at McNair (if available) and draft a QB.
14.

Philadelphia

Ernie Sims / LB

 The Eagles have many holes to fill (see WR) but one of the major ones is on defense. If you noticed last year, their defense and specifically LBs were not very good.
15.

Denver

 Chad Jackson / WR

Who really knows what Shannahan will do with this pick? He is the guy who took Mo Clarrett last year. Though it may be just a smokescreen, they visited with all the top WR's.

16.

Miami

 Manny Lawson / OLB

Lawson will be an OLB in a 3-4 and Miami may find it hard to pass on him. Miami tried to get Lavar Arrington so LB is certainly a spot they will address early in the draft.
17. Minnesota

Jimmy Williams / DB

Minnesota is a team that could try and trade up to 12 to get a QB. However if there is no trade look for the BPA defensively.
18.

Dallas

 Chad Greenway / LB

Dallas was searching for an ILB for their 3-4 during FA. Greenway has his concerns (strength) but no one can question his effort and results. Could be a good fit for a good player.

19. San Diego Tye Hill / DB

I think San Diego could take Chad Jackson if available and might consider Santonio Holmes but look for a DB in this spot. There will be a run on DB's at this stage of the round.
20. Kansas City Jonathan Joseph / DB

Kansas City has gone a long time without having major talent at the DB spot but yet needs more from the DE. They may have to choose between a DB and DE they like.

21. New England Bobby Carpenter / LB

New England's LB's are either getting older or leaving so this would be considered a 'need' area. Carpenter could go anywhere from late teens to the second round but fits in NE.
22. San Francisco

DeAngelo Williams / RB

This is a tough pick to guess, since the 49ers suck and have no talent, but if DeAngelo falls, as most RB's do in the draft, then they might go offense with their top two picks.
23. Tampa Bay Marcus McNeill / OT

Tampa Bay has not done much in FA but still must address their OT needs. McNeill is slotted to be a late first-round pick and has the ability to be a top 10 talent, if motivated right.

24. Cincinnati Donte Whitner / S

Apparently people are very high on Whitner. He has climbed up the boards steadily and would bring a solid presence to the safety spot as he can tackle and cover.
25. New York Giants Antonio Cromartie / DB

Signing Lavar means that a DB will be the major goal for this draft. Cromartie had a great offseason and has steadily moved up the boards.

26. Chicago Santonio Holmes / WR

The WR class is a little weak this year, but Holmes is a quality WR with good hands, quickness, and speed. Chicago needs all of the above and if Holmes drops, look for them to take him.

27.

Carolina

Laurence Maroney / RB

Word in Charlotte is that Carolina wants to get a steady, healthy RB out of this draft. Maroney is considered by some scouts as having the best all-around ability of the top RB's.
28.

Jacksonville

Tamba Hali / DE

For several years Jacksonville has made due with subpar DE's. I suspect they will draft one early in this draft and with Hali dropping on most boards he should be available at 28.

29. New York Jets Nick Mangold / C

This pick hits both a need and BPA. Mangold was a beast at the combine and at the pro day, as well as having a terrific career at OSU. The Jets would be fortunate to get him.

30.

Indianapolis

DeMeco Ryans / LB

They have RB, OL and LB needs but value at this spot is tricky. I think they would take Maroney if available but if not then LB before OL. Ryans should be around at 30.

31.

Seattle

Max Jean-Gilles / OG

Losing the best interior lineman in FA is not a good way to get back to the Super Bowl. Mad Max would be a wise pick up for a team needing to maintain its dominance in the NFC West.
32.

Pittsburgh

LenDale White / RB

 White has fallen due to concerns about his hamstring and his attitude but Pittsburgh is really the ideal spot for him. They need each other: White can be that Bettis-type RB.
