if you're heading to Europe in the summer could i suggest heading to Ireland not just Dublin but head to Clare or Mayo for great outdoor photos, not that Italy and places like that aren't nice but Ireland is really beautiful. im enjoying the blog, its nice to read what you think about the playoffs. :)

I'm really enjoying reading your opinions on the playoffs...great work! I have a question or two for you. As someone who hopes to start playing hockey in the near future, how did you convince your parents to let you start playing? Also, I've been playing some pick-up games, and love playing both goalie and forward...which would you suggest starting off with?

Hey Ryan, great blog! It's so much fun reading what you have to say about the playoffs. I have a few questions for you. As someone who plans to play hockey in the near future, what advice would you give to them? Also, I travel alot, and was wondering, where's your favorite place to go to, and where is one place you want to go to?

That Dallas/San Jose game was nuts. Both goalies were outstanding, it was too bad to know that one was going to get scored on eventually... Enjoy your Cinco de Mayo.

Many people think I'm strange, because I'm a mexican who's a die hard red wings fan, so my question is
How do you NHL superstars, handle the pressure of being known all around the globe??

Ryan, Love this blog... love how you write. It's almost like listening to a conversation rather than reading. I hear that hockey players are superstitious. I see some things that you do like circle before you leave the ice. Is it true or is just out of habit?

Hey Ryan! Originally from Buffalo but the Navy took me to Connecticut where I now live. Huge Sabres fan. Love your play. Just wanted to say that I hope you and the Sabres reach a long term deal. You are an integral part to a young and very talented team. Hope to see you come up to Boston next season and kick some Bruin ass. I don't get a chance to go back to Buffalo very often and Boston is only an hour and a half away so it's not too tough. I think the Pens will advance past the Flyers mainly becuase I don't think Biron is a solid netminder, that's why the Sabres wnet with you and benched him. plus it's just nature for a true Sabres fan to hate the Philly. I don't want the Stars winning because of the infamous "No Goal". Damn Stars. So I will go out on a limb and say that the Pens will win it all based on the tight play. Besides they have a local Western NYer in Brooks Orpik. i kow he was born in CA but his dad is a Nike Bauer rep based in Buffalo. I used to work for Great Skate befor

Hey Ryan - love reading your blog. Couple questions, wondering if you could answer:
(1) In addition to the other person who asked this, what is the meaning of the circle you do before you get off the ice? Anything behind that?
(2) Before games, when you do that little "prayer ritual", what's going through your head? (If this is too personal, then skip over this question).
(3) Your left eyebrow...Unnatural arch that you were born with, or is from an injury like a puck to the noggin or something?

millzy,
just wondering what piece of the puzzle the sabres are missing to get passed the playoffs to the stanley cup? free agency has hurt and the team has lost key players (drury, briere, mckee, dumont, and campbell). what kind of players would you like to see joining the team? glad you are getting time to relax and enjoy the summer and it was good to see you again in dallas...eric in okc

Ryan - I'm enjoying your blog. I've heard the rumors about the possibility of you becoming a Red Wing.... I'd love to see you in net behind our amazing Wings! Hope to see you in the winged wheel sweater in the future.

Hi Ryan,
I hate those comments of people asking you to sign with Detroit. You were drafted and born a Sabre. If Detroit or anyone else wanted you they would have drafted you. Stay with who brung you to the dance.
GO SABRES!!!!!!

Hey Ryan, Everyone knows goalies are superstitious lot. Do you have any gameday routines or superstitions? P.S. Please sign with Detroit, I will run out and get a Miller jersey faster then you can say "Hasek who?" I'd rather play for a team that is commited to Stanley Cups, even in a this new salary cap era, then to simply be viable.

Hi, Ryan, My son Brooks is 8 and one of your biggest fans (although you're tied with Marc-Andre Fleury for his favorite - Go Pens!)He's played hockey since he was 4 and loves the game, but he can't wait to start back in the fall because he'll finally get to play goal full time. When did you know you wanted to be a goalie and what advice would you give him? BTW, please tell me you're never going to sign with Detroit - Buffalo has the best fans on the planet.

Great blog, I was just curious as to why you didn't want to play for Team USA at the worlds? They seem to be lacking in the goal tending department.
