Ask a Redskins Cheerleader

These are the finest girls in the NFL this season. Check back each week to see a new team's babes and see what they do the best...look good! This week, the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders sat down and answered some of our questions. See their complete slideshow here. Dawn

What’s the best and worst thing about being a NFL cheerleader?

"Working in a job where everyone values their position to a high degree is really hard to find. I feel honored to cheer for the NFL and push myself physically, mentally and socially. Not to mention I have had the best year of my life!
The worst part about being an NFL Cheerleader is that it is a challenge to find a career that is accepting of all of our volunteer work, practices, game day schedules, over seas tours and calendar trips. I consider myself extremely lucky to have such great support!"

What’s the craziest thing a dude’s ever done to hit on you? In or out of stadium?

"One guy wanted me to sign my name on his brand new phone with a permanent marker.  I refused until he convinced me it would mean a lot to him…?  I randomly saw the same guy from a distance a few days later and my name was still in huge letters across his blackberry!"

When you’re not dancing, where can people find you?

"My ideal week would consist of brunch on the weekend, a few pilates classes, an occasional golf game, watching a new episode of “The Office”, a relaxing spa visit and spending zero minutes in DC traffic...Ahhh, maybe one day!"

Klohver

Jock or Nerd. Which one would you really rather settle down with?

"A little of both. I am initially attracted to the jock, but the nerd keeps me interested. Intelligence and kindness in a man is really most important to me, as we can continually challenge each other to be better people for ourselves, for each other and towards others."

Male cheerleaders. Weird, right?

"Right. Totally not feeling it!"

What’s the nightlife for you? Stay in and relax, or it’s the weekend, bring back college?

"Truthfully, nightlife for me is not very eventful! LOL. During the week, I work long hours, have cheer practice, promotional appearances, and I volunteer, so nightlife for me usually consists of sleeping!"

Melanie

It was probably a fantasy to become a NFL cheerleader, so now that you’ve reached this, what’s your next fantasy or dream?

"I plan to find work in L.A. in the marketing/public relations industry. I’ve learned from my day job as a business analyst that doing the same tasks day in and out just doesn’t suit me. I enjoy working in a dynamic environment to keep me enthusiastic and motivated."

What’s the best and worst thing about being a NFL cheerleader?

"I LOVE all the travel opportunities!  Last year alone, our girls traveled to at least 6 countries throughout the year. The worst aspect of being a cheerleader is the time commitment. It’s hard to be a business woman by day, cheerleader by night, and expect to have plenty of time for my family, boyfriend, and friends…and laundry."

When you’re not dancing, where can people find you?

"Don’t laugh, but I sometimes play the Sims 3. I’m addicted to building and designing houses! I could easily do that for hours without a break."

Michelle

What’s the best and worst thing about being a NFL cheerleader?

"The best is all of the opportunities you get to fulfill your dreams whether it be dancing on the field or traveling the world to entertain the troops ever girl has the same dream in common and that’s to perform.  The worst thing is probably the lack of understanding people have of the profession. We get a lot of back lash for provocative uniforms and big dance moves, but what those critics don’t realize is the hard work and dedication that is put not only into the dancing, but the community, the military, our families and our fulltime jobs. Sometimes it seems like we can’t catch a break in the media."

Who’s the hottest on-screen cheerleader?

"Clearly Ali Larter, no one has come close to her sexiness in Varsity Blues with the whip cream bikini!"

What’s the nightlife for you? Stay in and relax, or it’s the weekend, bring back college?

"Well I can certainly get down with the best of them and have been known to bring a little extra something to the scene, but sometimes sitting on my couch and catching up on TIVO with my ice cream in hand sounds like bliss on a Saturday night."

Tequia

It was probably a fantasy to become a NFL cheerleader, so now that you’ve reached this, what’s your next fantasy or dream?

"Actually, I’ve accomplished quite a bit in my life, especially career wise. I am very interested in global affairs and would consider my next “fantasy” as walking across a stage having received a law degree and a job offer to work for a foreign policy think tank or an NGO."

What’s the nightlife for you? Stay in and relax, or it’s the weekend, bring back college?

"I’m a small town girl, so when I do go out, I LOVE a karaoke night, bowling, and a mechanical bull! I also love to host parties and visitors, so when I do, I tend to want to show them the time of their life!   However, I generally have a really long work week and by the time the weekend comes, I just want to hang."

Jock or Nerd. Which one would you really rather settle down with?

"Of course, the nerd!  I am totally attracted to smart men; there’s nothing like a man that can stimulate me mentally."
