Carolina: Prepare to be Mounted

Finally. The team we’ve been looking for. After earning the right to be the 64th best team in the NCAA Tournament, The Mount Saint Mary’s Mountaineers—known around our office as the Team of Destiny—surely have what it takes to dethrone North Carolina.

True, a 16-seed has never beaten a 1-seed in the Tournament, but the college basketball fans of the world have never seen a 16 as equipped to win as this:

Fourteen losses? They’ve been tested by adversity and forged in fire!

No regular player taller than 6’7”? They’ll swarm like ants!

Spent the season playing teams like Monmouth and Quinnipiac? Merely resting up for the real season to begin!

And don’t think they can’t match up with these supposed “stars” Carolina has to offer.
Speed demon Ty Lawson?  Um, hello.  Ever heard of a guy called Jeremy Goode?  True, 5’9” and 170 pounds doesn’t sound like a ton of strength, but you should see the heart on this guy!

ACC Player of the Year Tyler Hansbrough? Please. He’ll have his hands full with Mountaineer beast Sam Atupem. Just because Psycho-T averages roughly three times his 7.8 points and 4.5 rebounds doesn’t mean Hansbrough can’t be out-hustled or out-smarted. After all, everyone knows he has a penchant for taking a play off here and there.

The point? Carolina should have thought a little more carefully before going 32-2, winning the ACC regular season and tournament crowns and securing the overall 1-seed. Wait, Carolina did all that? Damn, we take all that back.
