K-Rob Enjoys X-Games After-Party

Hey everyone! Well here I sit on the plane headed home from the 2009 Winter X Games. I must say this trip was nothing short of amazing! I'm actually a little choked up from leaving but I'm very anxious to get home and see my kids.

First I have to recap the Men's Snowboard SuperPipe Finals. The level of progression is out of hand and shows no sign of slowing down. I hope everyone realizes the dedication, perseverance, the heart, commitment, and most of all, the passion that go's into pushing a sport to the next level. There's no coaches for us Action Sports athletes. It's coming up with an idea and making it a reality. Struggling through the adversities all to feel that moment. That feeling of accomplishment, that you made it possible. Nothing in the world can top that feeling. No contract, no endorsement deal, no paycheck, no medal. This is a great way to describe Shaun White, winner of the SlopeStyle and SuperPipe events. I've known Shaun since he was around 10. He has more determination in 1 finger than most have throughout their lifetime. In this country it seems we build someone up until they become successful, then we can't wait to watch them fail. I've never understood this. Shaun has risen to the challenge time after time. He's one of the most winning athletes in X Games history. Let's embrace him, wrap our arms around him, and show him that we are proud of him for being a face for our country and what being an American is all about. Reaping the benefits of all the opportunities we have and turning them into a success story.

Of course, the end of the X Games means one thing. AFTER-PARTY! (Check out the pictures below.) Everyone getting together to celebrate all the great moments that happened over the course of the weekend. No more runs to worry about, interviews to do, underpaid hot-headed security to deal with. Just letting loose and sharing the moment with your friends. If you are ever in Aspen, Colo., be sure to go get a meal at Jimmy's. It is delicious!

Later this week I'll get an interview with New England Patriots player Lonie Paxton. To hear it straight from the horse's mouth on what NFL players think of Action Sports. Also, I'll have an interview with Shaun White. Thanks again everyone. I hope you enjoyed coming with me on my trip to Winter X. Let's do this again. K-Rob
