With just one race left to qualify for the Chase for the Cup, drivers are looking for every advantage they can get. A slight tire adjustment here, an extra hour in the simulator there, or a few extra gallons of milkshakes for Tony Stewart could all make the difference in Richmond.
It might look for advice from other drivers. A few might be desperate enough to ask Jeremy Mayfield for Chase advice (which is sort of like asking Tony Dungy how to coach in the playoffs. Sure he’s done it before but that doesn’t mean he knows what he’s doing.)
But at least Jeremy has been behind the wheel of stock car. NASCAR.com turned to Chase “expert” Shana Mayfield for advice on what drivers should expect this weekend. Jeremy seemed to spend the entire interview cowering in a corner while his wife spewed venom at his former employer and dropped nuggets of wisdom such ass:
- They just have to race their own race and not worry about anyone else.
She did have one intelligent thing to say however: “If I was a driver, and I'm not so maybe I don't have the expertise to be talking about this.”
