Parasailing has come a long way. Once tagged as a midday diversion for lonely knotheads on tequila-inclusive vacations, it has evolved into a spirited pursuit and even, dare we say, a sport. The basic idea remains the same: Person dons parachute-like apparatus which is attached via harness to a motorboat, which eventually sets him (or her - parasailing doesn't discriminate) aloft high above the sea. Now, however, there are competitions in which parasailers attempt to stick a landing in a specifically prescribed area or range. Heck, there's even land-based parasailing, in which the participant is pulled by a truck and similarly attempts to steer himself target-ward. In conclusion, parasailing kicks ass.
