Master of MegapixelsSony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot, $550 (price and carrier TBD) Lowdown: Sony’s flagship cam-phone is the most advanced one yet: Besides shooting at 8.1 mp, it has image stabilization and face detection that promise to properly expose even your most Quasimodo-faced relatives.
Pics: Mark the Cobrasnake invaded the hot Hollywood restaurant SHIN with the C905 in hand and came back with several great snaps, like one of a stunning blonde caught in a flash—without red eyes!
Verdict: “Sony nailed the design—the ergonomics are just like a camera’s. Downloading pics via Bluetooth is supersimple. But the photos are just good. They still have a camera phone look.”

The I-Clone Samsung Omnia i910, $270 (with Verizon Wireless activation)Lowdown: This Windows Mobile–powered phone has a sleek touchscreen design that mimics the iPhone’s, but it’s got smarter specs in the photo department: Its camera grabs pics at 5 mp, while the iPhone shoots at just 2 mp. Boo-ya, Apple!
Pics: Mark took photos of his hippie-chick friends driving—and paying little attention to the road. The shots have a dreamy, digital, beer-goggle effect.
Verdict: Patience is rewarded. “It takes a while to get used to using this touchscreen, and the photos aren’t the strongest,” says Mark. “But near-zero shutter lag almost makes up for it.”

The Strong FinnishNokia N85, $580 (unlocked)Lowdown: The 5 mp camera is the star feature of Nokia’s newest bells-and-whistles-laden smart phone: It’s got Carl Zeiss optics and geotagging functionality, plus it displays pics on a superbright 2.6-inch OLED screen.
Pics: “Even though this one doesn’t have the brightest flash, I was able to take some decent shots at my buddy’s band’s show in Echo Park,” Mark says. We have to admit our fave shot of the set is of two girls lip-locked. Are you gals looking for an internship?
Verdict: “The photos themselves are pretty great, but you should’ve seen the ones I missed. The slide-up screen makes the camera
slo-o-o-o-w to start up.”

The Kodak KingMotorola Motozine ZN5, $150 (with T-Mobile activation)Lowdown: This thin, candy-bar-shaped 5 mp cam-phone is packed with Kodak technology that sharpens and brightens your illicit photos, while wi-fi helps you get the damning shots up on your Facebook page fast.
Pics: Mark took the Motorola to a swank private dinner gone crazy. Pics of debauched partyers came in crisp and properly exposed. Photos of the potbellied dude in the bathroom? That was exposure we could live without.
Verdict: “This one’s the best. The phone reacts like a real camera. The shutter doesn’t lag, and the autofocus is great. I’m snagging it!”
