This good girl from Brooklyn played a goomah on The Sopranos. We think that’s Italian for “respectable and enterprising young woman.”
Home base: Brooklyn, New York Celluloid credibility: Patti on The Sopranos; small roles in The Stepford Wives and on Ed, Saturday Night Live and Late Night with Conan O’Brien Day job: Model for Rocawear and Levi’s; former elementary-school teacher
STUFF: So, which hottie did you play on The Sopranos? BARBARA: I was Christopher’s goomah [on this season’s premiere]. I was on his lap, talking about how bears attack you when you’re on your period. Mike Imperioli is a very intelligent person—nothing like the character he plays.
We’ve heard you’re a smarty, too. People think of me as a typical blonde, but after speaking to me for five minutes, they realize how different I am. I started college when I was 16, I finished in three years, and I did my master’s in one year. I guess they judge a book by its cover.
Have you ever had any of your own run-ins with the law? I just finished shooting a movie called The Amazing Floydini. In one scene, I was on a roof, crying and screaming, “I’m gonna jump!” And somebody called it in as a suicide, so a cop came to the set! I guess my acting was pretty good.
What about a man makes you want to scream from the rooftops? Forget muscles and everything else; looks fade. I look for a man who loves his family and goes to church. There are babes who go to church. I told that to one celebrity, and he said, “If I knew that girls like you went to church, I’d go every week.”
