Brand: Anchor Brewing Zymaster Series: No. 4 Fort Ross Farmhouse Ale

If long summer days have you dreaming of your days on the farm (everyone has farm memories, right?), then you’re in for a treat with the latest from San Francisco’s Anchor Brewing.

With an ABV of 7.2%, this Belgian-style ale is made with Yerba Santa, an herb that makes the beer spicy and bitter. Yerba Santa is also rumored to have healing powers, which makes this brew more of a hippie-commune farmhouse ale than the kind that has prize-winning watermelons and happy pigs.

Flavors of clove and a saison-style yeast compliment the Yerba Santa perfectly. To us, it tastes like a beer you might sip at a Phish concert. And why not? It’s summer time!
