Why You’ll Never Pay for an iPhone with More Memory Again

This handy little gadget adds up to 256 GB of mobile storage to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod.

Every time Apple comes out with a new mobile device, the first two things you do are drool and wonder which model you should buy. Once you’ve ascertained which screen size feels right to your hands and eyes, you wrestle over whether you should fork out more for a device with more memory. After all, maxing out your storage is the quickest way to kill your newly-found i-buzz. Well, here’s the quick answer for you: you probably don’t need the one with more memory. Sure, there’s the cloud. But for times when (gasp) you’re offline, it’s best to rely on the Leef iBridge, physical external memory made expressly for Apple products.

The iBridge adds between 16 GB ($60) and 256 GB ($400). Physically it’s cool because it’s unobtrusive, allowing you to use (and even charge) your device while taking full advantage of its storage capabilities. It easily backs up contacts and photos; shoots photos and videos right to the iBridge; and tranfer, plus it can view and share a variety of files to and from the iBridge and your computer, other devices and friends.

Although it’s pretty simple to use, Leef has published a slew of videos (including the one below) on how to navigate its most popular functions. They’re all less than a minute. Plus they have really catchy music playing in the background, so there’s that.

(The reason we say you “probably” don’t need the larger memory device is worth noting: the iBridge can’t synch or store DRM-protected movies and music from iTunes. So keep that in mind. But know that you won’t have scads of your own photos, videos and documents competing with that fun stuff.)
