Dr. Hanson (Stanley Tucci) is the genius neurosurgeon with an attitude who, along with new guy Dr. Seger, is determined to crack brain-related riddles more difficult than the Post's weekend edition Su Doku. Where House relies on sarcasm to dispel protagonist despair, lbs. leans on a darker version of depression. Hanson is driven by his own mental struggle, hoping to fix in others what he cannot do to himself. Despite the character arcs, the neurological head cases keep episodes rapidly on pace to make an hour disappear faster than Tucci's hair.
