The gang at ER's County General haven't been shipped to Iraq for some good-looking serialized drama; instead, real doctors contend with real-life appalling injuries sustained during active duty in the Middle East. Military doctors earn their rank mending the wounded while hoping to keep sane by knocking balls out of the sandpits of the Baghdad back nine. The goal of the documentary is not to influence war opinion, but to acknowledge that the difficult conditions our soldiers face are much worse than a Michael Moore exposé could slant—and more horrific than anything Fox News would ever report.
