What’s easier than making fun of the Japanese? Watching the English make fun of the Japanese. Simply stated, Banzai is a spoof of Japanese game shows—it originated on Britain’s Channel 4—with ridiculous premises like “Old Lady Wheelchair Chicken Challenge” (two old ladies playing chicken in wheelchairs), “Vertically Challenged Vertical Challenge” (dwarfs climbing atop basketball players), and “The Man Dog Stick Question” (who can retrieve a stick out of a pool first: Todd Bridges or a dog). All of them are as wonderfully entertaining as they sound, and you can bet on each face-off before it takes place—the perfect setup for a drinking game (hey, don’t look at us, we got other things to write). What’s more, the Japanese stereotypes couldn’t be beaten any further into the ground: the constant flashing graphics…the poorly constructed Engrish sentences…the short people. Banzai how crazy a television show, you laughing hard on ground for long!
