Big Day

Weddings would be tolerable if the bride and groom weren't hogging the spotlight. But Alice's eccentric family is creating too much chaos to pay attention to her and husband-to-be Danny. The first comedy to siphon 24's style of one day in a season, each episode of Big Day tells a part of a wedding day gone wrong, culminating (hopefully) in a blissful union. Getting there is the fun part (again hopefully). Whether it's a near-blind best man to an orgasmic in-law foot rub, the gags are mostly improbable, although they do mesh well with cartoonish cast members such as sitcom lifer Wendie Malick and Mad TV send-off Stephnie Weir. Mostly a romantic comedy, Day aims for a coupled audience. But only those who have gone through with a wedding day experience can relate to its disasters, limiting itself to those happily married couples. That just leaves you and dad, mom.
