Claiming such great films as Beetlejuice and Earth Girls Are Easy on her resumé, it's only a natural progression in a distinguished career that Geena Davis be sworn in as president. But don't go blaming Florida just yetlike a drunken night with your girlfriend, she slips in the backdoor. When the current President is rushed into brain surgery, Vice President Mackenzie Allen (Davis) assumes the role of head honcho rather than stepping down as suggested by more seasoned Speaker of the House Nathan Templeton (Donald Sutherland). Subsequently, Mac is taken off Templeton's Christmas list and put on his shit listthrusting her into the unenviable position of convincing skeptics that she's a capable leader. Once the initial charm of a prez in pumps fades, Chief wanders through the cogs of a political machine already explored on The West Wing and stroked tenderly by Fox News. The First Gentleman, who learns there's more to his role than looking pretty, is the solitary source of levity in the Oval Office, but by the second Hillary dig, even he's moldy enough to require comic relief. A heavy emphasis on how "cutting-edge" the show is may empower an impressionable Pi Phi to buy a business skirt, but you'll be left wondering where all the hot White House interns went.
