Over 25 years ago, hot 15-year-old rich girl Martha Moxley was murdered in Greenwich, Connecticut. About 20 years later—intrigued by the many leads connecting Kennedy nephews Tommy and Michael Skakel to the crime—walking tabloid headline Mark Furhman went out there to investigate. Watch Furhman (played by Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’s Christopher Meloni) go at it with the rich suburban folks who castigate him for barging into their quiet little town. After the infighting dies down, Murder in Greenwich pieces together clues with an American Beauty–style narrative by the deceased Moxley (Maggie Grace) and Furhman’s persistent sleuthing. Soon the infamous O.J. Simpson case detective solves the murder and everyone gets back to their own boring bourgeois business—exactly what we did after watching this true story get the made-for-TV treatment in the first lackluster installment of author Dominick Dunne’s true crime series.
