Women bending freakishly, dogs walking on their front legs, and flaming Hula-Hoop artists: FOX’s latest no-talent talent seach? No. It’s NBC’s Extreme Variety—hosted by Tom Cavanagh! Shot in Las Vegas, Variety collects a motley assemblage to display its strangeness onstage at the Bally’s Paris Hotel. It’s not the most thought-provoking stuff, but it’s certainly not boring. Cavanagh hams it up as he transitions from glass eaters to cat trainers and, seriously, just about everything in between. It’s a lot like an actual trip to Vegas—minus the huge craps losses.
