Gerhard Reinke's Wanderlust

Recall one of those inside jokes you have with your friends—the kind no one else could possibly find funny but somehow makes you bust your pants each time you hear it. Then spread it thinly over a strange travel show hosted by a fake German with a Speedo penchant, and that’s Wanderlust. Trying to cash in on his appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live (isn’t that kinda like trying to lick your elbow?), Gerhard Reinke (comedy writer Josh Gardner) has put together a six-episode series touring exotic locales, from Thailand to the Amazon, supplying his unique (read: not funny) views on each culture he explores. Only, beyond his ersatz German accent, there are no jokes—and the accent isn’t even funny. This might be one of those Andy Kaufman things that takes time to appreciate. But we really doubt it.
