Insomniac: Rio Dave Janeiro

Dave Attell dives liver first into the heart of Carnaval to tackle three of our favorite things: Brazilian women, outdoor drinking, and indoor drinking. Expanding on the Insomniac formula (find freaks who stay up late and film them), Rio Dave Janeiro travels to a different country and tacks on a half-hour. Attell even shows his face in natural light to search for thongs on the beach and take in a breast implant procedure at a local plastic surgeon. But he's still at his best parading around late night and early morning with the street folk: kickboxing with locals, challenging a biker to an outdoor game of pool for whisky shots, and, for most of the show, snapping pics of costumed maniacs marching in the four-day parade. We already liked the original show's combination of stand-up and street drinking; now we can add a foreign locale without leaving the couch and call it a summer.
