Kitchen Confidential

Usually a chef loses his job if he can't cook, but pompous master chef Jack Bourdain (Bradley Cooper) gets canned for cooking up too many pantry threesomes. Before you can ask, "Has any chef ever been in a ménage-à-trois?" Bourdain is given a second chance at culinary stardom—but there's a catch. Before he's hired, he must keep the kitchen in order long enough to impress a food critic who's salivating at the chance to slam him in the press. To keep everyone satiated, Bourdain assembles a skilled staff of faces from the 2003 Teen Choice Awards—dippy hostess Jamie King (Sin City), sous-chefs Nicolas Brendon (Buffy) and John Cho (Harold and Kumar), and gullible assistant John Francis Daly (Freaks and Geeks). Like the frantic tempo of the trendy New York eatery it portrays, Confidential fills the half hour with behind-the-kitchen-door pratfalls that sometimes forsake the remaining cast in favor of depicting the depravity of a celebrity chef. But if a balance can be struck in dishing out screen time, Kitchen should be another Fox hit du jour, like Arrested Development, awaiting the chopping block.
