Evel Knievel's son, Kaptain Robbie Knievel, is on a mission to bring the sport of jumping over random shit on a motorcycle to a new generation. But in a post-Jackass world, dangerous stunts just aren't that interesting unless someone gets seriously hurt—or staples his ass-cheeks together. Though the bone-crunching potential exists as Knievel attempts death-defying stunts that'd make papa proud—like jumping five fighter planes and two helicopters on the deck of the U.S.S. Intrepid—this reality show rings somewhat anti-climactic, since you know Robbie won't permanently crash and burn. ("Series premiere…series finale!") To compensate, Wild Ride incorporates clips of previous crashes still haunting Robbie before each jump, but even those become tedious after repeat playbacks. Like our office softball team, Knievel's crew is a bar-brawling bunch. But, also like our office softball team, that doesn't mean we want to hang out with them every week.
