On Comedy Central’s newest game show, Let’s Bowl, regular Joes settle disputes with a friendly game of tenpins. The winner gets an apology and a shot to roll one ball against a league bowler and win “a fabulous prize.” Funny premise, but the actual act of watching people play trailer park golf isn’t. Add the commentary—“Wally, he’s rolling the ball. It’s hitting the pins!”—and you’ve got the promise of a short-lived television experiment. The little bowling news stories mixed into the game are slightly more amusing, but they, ultimately, only serve to extend the pain. If you’ve forgotten how boring it is to watch people bowl, tune in and prepare to nap.
