Quest for King Arthur

The legendary Knights of the Round Table may look good on paper, but TV's an entirely different story. The History Channel's Quest for King Arthur sets out to debunk the myths behind the man behind the legend, but only winds up muddling the picture further. Sit-down interviews with various university professors and Arthurian experts provide detailed—and by "detailed," we mean "extremely boring"—accounts of Britain's tumultuous battles between the Britons and the Saxons in the 15th century and present numerous possible heroes on whom the legend could be based. But in the end, these experts admit they still don't have a definitive answer, and all the basic-cable-quality reenactments in the world can't spice up this story. Unless you want to endure a return trip to the history classroom, we suggest you leave this sword in the stone.
