Where do they get the crews of these starships? “Explore strange new worlds. Seek out new life and new civilizations.” What a bunch of dorks. Doesn’t anybody in the 24th century just want to take their clothes off and drink beer?
Meet Xev. A genetically engineered love slave with a bod built—literally—for sin, she has a voracious libido and an appetite for raw meat. The character could easily turn into a one-note strumpet, and, well, you probably wouldn’t mind. But played by the fetching Xenia Seeburg, Xev is funny, flirtatious and adorably unpredictable. The show itself is a gutsy mix of action and straight-faced humor. The mix might not take with some old-school sci-fi fans—the kind of people who actually debate the flawed physics on Third Rock from the Sun—but the rest of you are in for a treat.
