Battlestar Galactica

Though this sci-fi remake may not boldly go where no man has gone before, Battlestar Galactica is light years ahead of the space trash the Star Trek franchise is crapping out these days. Building on last year's miniseries, the Galactica crew (and Tricia Helfer!) is back for a full season of civilization rebuilding. But space isn't the only frontier this show explores—the first episode alone is packed with a nuclear fallout and a host of human-hunting Cylons relentlessly chasing their prey. Meanwhile, the sneaky cyborgs have cleverly infiltrated the humans with Cylon doppelgängers, some of whom aren't even aware they are sabotaging the fleet. Rife with military, political, and human tension, Battlestar Galactica builds with each episode—a feat even Jean Luc Picard can't pull off anymore.
