Sword-sharp artistry and the imagination of Akira Kurosawa bring forth the futuristic retelling of the classic Seven Samurai, a tale of farmers who enlist the help of Bushido-bound samurai to defend their village against tyrant bandits. 7 is as ornate and in-depth as the live-action original, yet it's not physically limited by actors and special effects. Told in an impressive 26 installments, the set utilizes a subdued anime style friendly to novices of the meticulous cartoons typically viewed only by an elite (and porky and ponytailed) sect.
