When Cool Guy awards are handed out to the weird looking, expect James Woods to take top honors. Woods excels at being arrogant and is unsurpassed when playing smarmy, so portraying a high-profile L.A. defense attorney was a logical next step. A case gone deadly wrong convinces Sebastian "Shark" Stark to reevaluate his clientele until given a position at the DA's office. With this second chance, Shark uses his merciless brand of lawyering to make amends to society and to the daughter he neglected. The supporting state attorneys are passable but get swallowed by the Shark's bite. While Woods is flashy in front of a judge, he loses his place when acknowledging true familial emotion, the extraneous aspect of Shark. Luckily, no jury would ever rule against a slick-talking lawyer, especially one with sharp teeth.
