The freaks come out at night. At half past ten to be exact. That's when America's first team for menial jobs are called to action. Freak Show attractions are assembled to lighten the load of presidential errands—whether it's shopping for rare nuts or gassing up his Trans Am. David Cross and Jon Benjamin, two talented balding comedians better off as cartoons, are Siamese twins commanding fellow misfits The World's Tallest Nebraskan, The Bearded Clam, Primi the premature baby and the Log Cabin Republican. Cross and Benjamin write dry but intelligently, letting the absurdity of the Blooper Friends dictate direction. Freaks winds up and takes a swing at politicians and rednecks, paparazzi and stoners in a lovable fashion the Smurfs never had the blue balls to try.
