Painkiller Jane

Popular-comic-book-turned-successful-original-movie gets retold starring the female Terminator Kristanna Loken in an ongoing series that should kill the character's lineage. In this latest incarnation, DEA agent Jane Vasko is recruited by a secret agency to hunt people with special abilities called Neuros, only to find out she has her own unique healing ability. Like a photocopy rescanned; the premise is obscured by flashy camera work; nonsensical cyber-jargon; and clichéd presentation, complete with a grunge rock tech whiz ready to offend the emo-punk kids who control the real blogosphere. On paper the requirements for success are all here, with an ass-kicking über-babe fighting evil. But the working model yields unintentionally to campy dialogue dipped in overwrought performances. Or maybe the procrastinated context is deliberate. Either way, the result still remains that Jane is cornier than Thanksgiving.
