The Skinny: Brenda Johnson (Kyra Sedgwick) and her bag full of sweets returns for another summer of crime-solving and case-closing. Seriously, guysif she's on the case, you'd save money by confessing and not wasting more of your lawyer's time.
The Good: Even with three seasons in the can, you can easily jump in now without a lot of head scratching, thanks to Sedgwick's mastery of the role. Even though the season premiere features a pyromaniac from Season One (an awesome Jason O'Mara), the pair recreate whatever tension existed before so easily, you'll still be creeped out.
The Bad: Like any procedural with a few seasons under its belt, you begin to wonder how many different ways they can kill someone. (Though a burned corpse that ignites an entire park in the premiere is a pretty good one!) Plus, we feel the show beginning to lean a little too much on non-cop drama.
Fire Starter: Our favorite part of the episode was when O'Mara's character walks the cops through the crime scene and describes with fiendish delight how the barbecue/murder took place. So, who brought the hot dogs?
