After 20-plus years, someone is finally chasing New Kid Donnie Wahlberg. Only this time it's U.S. Marshals hot on his trail instead of knock-kneed teens tossing their training bras. When Paul Rader is falsely accused of murder, he and his family take to the road so Paul can find out who framed him. Tucked away in a small Iowa town, the Raders find assuming new identities is much more difficult when raising three kids. (Denying dessert could convince a snubbed child to phone in the fuzz!) Wahlberg plays off his rigidity—found in all of his roles— as a fugitive wary of his circumstances. As one of the CW's two new shows, Runaway balances conspiracy theory with the kind of teenage anxiety 7th Heaven fans would postpone nightly prayers for.
