Six Feet Under is the third best drama on TV, right behind the Sopranos and Oz. (We have reached the pinnacle of television and it is called HBO.) Six Feet is similar to the incredibly popular Law & Order in that they both open each episode with a death; the main difference is that Six Feet doesn’t so closely resemble watered-down ass.

If you didn’t watch last season, Six Feet is about a really fucked-up family surrounded by death every minute of every day (and that’s the least of their worries). The rest of the show is a collection of embarrassing and awkward moments strung together to make you feel uncomfortable for an hour each week—but it’s that fun thank-jebus-this-isn’t-happening-to-me kind of uncomfortable. The show combines dark and evil humor (in the premiere episode, Life and Death have sex over a game of Chinese checkers) with moments of chilling reality (the second episode features a depressing heat-related death à la the Viking’s Korey Stringer). Just stick with this show and think of it as the ultimate soap opera for freaks.
