Not only is it slotted after Scrubs—Teachers follows the medical comedy's successful formula for quick-witted humor down to the casting of a pair of battling beauties and a duo of biracial buddies, with Justin Bartha's Cahill evoking Zach Braff springing a pop quiz. Under the guise of an aloof instructor, Cahill makes students learn when they're not expecting it, all the while hoping to seduce a stuffy British colleague into some extracurricular activities. The worn laugh track requires adjusting, but the classroom comedy deserves some growing time before it gets sentenced to the short bus.
