“Too Close For Comfort”: It’s the Newest “Greatest Event in Television History!”

Adam Scott and friends take on another “classic” ’80s sitcom.

First, there was “The Greatest Event In Television History”, in which Adam Scott and Jon Hamm did a shot-by-shot remake of the opening credits to Simon & Simon. Then, there was the second “Greatest Event In Television History” which once again featured Scott, this time opposite Amy Poehler, for a remake of the Hart to Hart intro. Well, the time has come for yet another “Greatest Event in Television History.” Are you ready?

This time, Scott recruited awesome funny people Catherine O’Hara, Jon Glaser, Chelsea Peretti, and Kathryn Hahn to play the cast of the forgotten-by-most ’80s sitcom Too Close for Comfort. Scott himself plays Jim J. Bullock’s iconic character, Monroe. Once again, Survivor host Jeff Probst introduces the clip, though this time he admits that perhaps a better name for the whole endeavor would be “An Event in Television History.” He may be right, but we’re already looking forward to the next “Greatest Event in Television History,” which Adult Swim will air on January 23, 2014 at midnight. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves…please enjoy! (Oh, and keep your eyes peeled for cameos by  Jason Mantzoukas, Seth Morris, Paul Scheer, and a spooky Jon Hamm.)

First, here’s the original opening of Too Close for Comfort:
