If you want the excitement of Jurassic Park without Jeff Goldblum, When Dinosaurs Roamed America is for you. Narrated by dino-sized John Goodman, the show focuses on the daily life of the dinosaurs that roamed these here parts millions of years ago. But, rather than reenact the events with drawings or shadow puppets, the creatures have been recreated with computer graphics. The resulting animals are so realistic, they even shake the camera as they run by. Like most Discovery Channel fare, parts of the show are a bit dry and it shamelessly tries to educate you, but as you watch a pack of Raptors rip into a bloody carcass, you almost forget it’s a healthy part of your TV diet.
