Jerry Seinfeld’s Family Lemonade Stand Was Shut Down By the Police

Seinfeld fought the law, and the law won.

Turns out, when you are worth over $800 million dollars, your East Hampton neighbors might not take kindly to a lemonade stand in your yard — even if the proceeds are going to charity.

Jessica and Jerry Seinfeld found this out the hard way last week, after a neighbor called the cops about a lemonade stand their son and his friends had set up to raise money for Mrs. Seinfeld’s Baby Buggy charity.

East Hampton Village Police Chief Jerry Larsen told the East Hampton Pressthat police responded to a neighbor complaint about illegally parked cars near the Seinfeld beach pad. When the cops showed up to investigate, the Seinfelds were shut down under a village ordinance that prevents peddling of any kind — cool refreshing drinks or no.

Jessica Seinfeld broke the news via a good-humored Instagram post last week, showing the family holding up their arms in surrender. “Lemonade dreams crushed by local neighbor but not before raising lots of money for @loverecycled. Thanks to all of our customers and big tippers!” she wrote.
