Watch Honda's 150-MPH 'Mean Mower' Rev Its Beastly Engine In New Video

It's the fastest lawnmower ever.

If you've ever wanted to hear the glorious sound of a lawnmower powered by a 190-horsepower superbike engine, then gaze upon the video above.

That grass-shredding monstrosity is none other than Honda's latest "Mean Mower." The Japanese automaker joined forces with Team Dynamics—Honda's British Tour Car Championship partner—and transplanted the engine from their CBR1000RR Fireblade SP crotch rocket into an HF 2622 HTE Premium Garden Tractor.

Honda has further details on the Mean Mower V2's impressive specs:

The Fireblade DNA continues with the carry-over of several other parts including clutch, ECU, six-speed drive train and full color LCD display.

The programmable quick shift gear system promises precise and responsive shift through carbon paddles on the steering wheel – with the team estimating that this new machine could reach 90mph in first gear.

It's just the latest chapter in the Mean Mower saga. In 2013, Honda broke into the Guinness World Records when Top Gear writer Piers Ward pushed the Mean Mower V1 to an absurd 116 mph. Watch that attempt below:

With nearly twice the horsepower, the development team estimates that its newly built successor could hit 150 mph when stunt driver and "rising race star" Jess Hawkins takes the wheel in the near future.

“The original Mean Mower was a great challenge for us and the result was an amazing machine,” Honda UK managing director Dave Hodgetts said.

“This time we have moved the game on considerably to build an incredible piece of real engineering, using advanced design and production techniques and calling upon some very clever thinking to bring the performance and power but still retain the look of the production mower.

“We’re in testing phase now and everything is looking good, with a top speed of more than 150 mph very much in our sights.”

We can't wait to see what fastest lawnmower ever built can do on a track.
