Throwback Thursday: May 2006 – Jamie-Lynn Sigler

Check out what we were up to in May of ’06. Don’t worry, we’ll leave out our middle school class picture.

Every week, we send someone stumbling into the dark Maxim archives to see what we were up to way back when. This week we’re going back to May of 2006, when Jamie-Lynn Sigler had mafia ties, we wanted Hollywood to form the ultimate rock band, and Heidi Fleiss was America’s head madam.

Cover Girl: Jamie-Lynn Sigler

Where You’ve Seen Her: In 2006 Jamie-Lynn Sigler was the mob princess we admired from afar (only because if we got too close, Tony Soprano would murder us). After snagging the career-defining role of Meadow on HBO’s hit series The Sopranos, this native New Yorker quickly made headlines for her talent and beauty. After her sexy Maxim cover, most men were willing to risk the possibility of getting a horse head cuddle buddy for a shot with her.

Where She Is Now: After The Sopranos concluded in 2006, Jamie-Lynn had a recurring role on Entourage (and, inexplicably, in real-life) as Turtle’s super-hot girlfriend. After her year-long stint on the show, she moved on to movies, with roles in Beneath the Dark, Son of Morning, and Jewtopia. Up next for the gorgeous brunette is the 2014 flick Jonah and the Whale.

Featuring:

It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s…Supergroup!

In the early years of the reality TV craze, P. Diddy cashed in with the MTV series Making the Band. After the show led to the formation of several successful groups – including Danity Kane, which featured Maxim model Aubrey O’Day – copycats weren’t far behind. Enter Supergroup, VH1’s reality show about combining five well-known rock musicians to form one epic band. Unfortunately, the results were far from super, and all we really learned was that there is such a thing as too much ego, and forming a band is a pretty boring process. On the flipside, you can never have too much Ted Nugent.

Ask Heidi

Heidi Fleiss garnered eternal infamy back in 1993, when police busted her for running a high-end prostitution ring servicing the Hollywood elite. After her release from the slammer in 1999, the head madam began capitalizing on her new, taboo fame with tell-all books and a string of television interviews. By ’06, she had become our sex advice columnist, offering inquisitive young men some bullshit-free guidance. These days, the former lady of the night keeps a low profile, though it’s unclear whether that’s by choice.
