Watch The Thrill-Packed New ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ Trailer, Now With Even More Baby Groot

Plus Kurt Russell—what else do you need?

A new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday and if you’re not stoked for this sequel now, you should be after watching this. 

This preview brings back Nebula—an unrecognizable Karen Gillan—and gives us a good look at everyone else in action. This includes the insanely adorable Baby Groot, such a strong breakout character he has his own children’s book and could get a solo film, if Vin Diesel is correct. The real fun, though, is at the very end. No less than Kurt Russell shows up and introduces himself to Chris Pratt’s Star Lord as “Dad,” a.k.a. Ego. 

Also included in the fun are some kind of horrifying space octopus and Elizabeth Debicki as the antagonist Ayesha, who seeks to rid the universe of failings like fear and jealousy. All that and another taste of the signature Guardians classic rock soundtrack. The next Guardians already looks like a worthy successor to the outrageously entertaining first film. 

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will rock our world when it premieres in theaters nationwide on May 5, 2017.
