Ice Cube Will Play Scrooge in the Latest A Christmas Carol Remake

Bah humbug, Felicia.

Ice Cube has some big shoes to fill, as it will be nearly impossible to top Bill Murray’s take on legendary miser Ebenezer Scrooge (seriously, raise your hand if you’ve seen Scrooged 134 times,) but he’s gonna try. The rapper has been officially cast to play the penny-pinching grump in the latest of many remakes of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol

Humbug, scheduled to hit theaters in 2017, was won by Universal in a bidding war between MGM, New Line and Disney in an expensive scramble for rights to the sure-fire holiday money-maker. A modern take on the story, Cube will play a wealthy real estate mogul shown a path to redemption by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.

Ice Cube has made some interesting film choices in his career, but he’s most known for his roles in Boyz in the Hood, Anaconda, Barbershop, and for being the originator of this:
